1.Bug fix - Some mobiles in combination with ICS (Android 4.0) displayed the keyboard in half height until the mobile was rotated - then the bug 'disappeared'.

2. On some mobiles without gyroscope it was hard to control the keyboard movements. This has been improved, but still MaxiKeys works best on mobiles with gyroscope.

Release 1.6.1 contains:
  • Copy/Paste support - You can already do copy-paste by 'long presses', but it is a bit cumbersome, and the aim of Maxikeys is a keyboard, which is very close to a PC keyboard. So it should be possible to select text by Shift-cursor-movement (arrow keys) and cut/copy/paste with ctrl-x, ctrl-c and ctrl-v.
  • Shift-, Alt-, and Ctrl- keys stays selected and inverted until next key press or until deselected by pressing same key once more. CapsLock stays selected and inverted until deselected.
  • Tracking improvement, which means better control of the keyboard movement. Especially for units with gyroscope, there are room for improvement  by optimizing filters, and adopt to different models.
  • Support for 'locked layouts' - keyboards which does NOT move.
  • Support for 'delete' key - forward delete, as opposed to backspace.

You may have noticed there was a small release 1.5.x, which just included support for the 'ConnectBot' app - there is also a layout for that. This is only interesting for those who wants to use their mobile to connect to a computer - as a terminal.

But what's next ?

  • A couple of layouts - UK layouts have already been release.

A new version from 25'th of september has improved stability a lot.

Furthermore a Crash Report module has been introduced, so if a crash happens, informations will be send to support, if user choose an email application to report it.

This is strongly recommended and much appreciated, because it will help a lot making 'maxikeys' better.

This support page is finished now, and it should be possible to start creating new keyboards without having any inside informations.

The Maxikeys app is still unstable, so crashes are expected - please don't report that. This will hopefully be corrected soon, and you can test Maxikeys to get the feeling.
